Sedation Dentistry

Cosmetic Dentist in Houston, TX serving Sugar Land, Katy and Surrounding Communities

Dental phobia is a serious issue that can prevent people from seeking the general dentistry services they need to maintain optimal oral health. Dental phobia may also prevent people from seeking the cosmetic dentistry services necessary for the perfection of their smiles.

Houston dentists Dr. Melicia Tjoa and Dr. Jean Morency want each of our patients to be at ease and completely comfortable at all times during their dental treatment. If you suffer from dental phobia, we would be happy to discuss which sedation dentistry options can best allow you to get the treatment you deserve.

If you live in or around Houston, Texas, and believe you could benefit from sedation dentistry, please contact BRSH Dental or call ((832) 779-2774 today to schedule a consultation with Dr. Tjoa or Dr. Morency.

Sedation Options

Our Houston sedation dentists have found that oral sedation is perfect for many of our patients. Taken around an hour before your treatment, oral sedation allows you to remain conscious enough to respond to basic commands, yet comfortable enough to undergo even the most complex dental services.

Oral conscious sedation is a good solution for dealing with dental phobia in addition to issues such as:

  • Difficulties getting numb
  • An over active gag reflex
  • Sensitive teeth
  • Jaw discomfort

In addition to oral options, we provide sleep dentistry services for patients who require heavier sedation. This deeper form of sedation is administered through an IV and is provided by a licensed anesthesiologist. Our sedation dentists may recommend sleep dentistry for patients who are undergoing a surgical procedure such as dental implant placement or who require a longer treatment during which discomfort may be more likely. Sleep dentistry is often not necessary for minor dental phobia.

At BRSH Dental we hold the comfort of each patient as a top priority. If dental treatments cause you discomfort, no matter what the reason, we would be happy to discuss your options and help you find the most suitable solution.
